Be supported by highly trained therapists in reaching your life and relationship goals.

Based on a holistic and life participation approach to aphasia, this group aims to connect adults together to share meaningful conversations and moments.

Meet others, share ideas, and practice your communication skills in an intentional space. Led by a Speech Language Pathologist (MA: CCC-SLP) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (MA: MSW, LICSW), this group will focus on communication strategies to build confidence and self-expression, mindfulness techniques to reduce stress and anxiety, and mental therapeutic practices to improve your relationships and step into the highest version of yourself. Learn techniques for communication effectiveness, all while engaging in fun, meaningful activities and conversations.

Our healing and empowerment journey together begins now.

Approach

Based on the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia (LPAA), these conversation groups emphasize building social networks, setting and working toward meaningful life goals, and enhancing cognitive, communicative, and emotional techniques and practices for successful interactions.

The facilitators are guided by a holistic approach to rehabilitation focusing on the entire individual. Groups emphasize the reintegration into society, mental and emotional health, nutrition and exercise, enjoyable activities, spiritual connection to community and faith, as well as continued learning and growth. We involve the family, offering caregiver and spouse support.
